Answers to the most common questions about Sit2Stand, implementation, and operation
How exactly does the Sit2stand detection sensor work?
The Sit2Stand sensor uses 3-axis accelerometers and artificial intelligence algorithms to monitor the resident’s movements and posture in real time. It detects anomalous patterns such as sudden rising, loss of balance, or unassisted transfer attempts.
When a risk pattern is identified, the system sends an automatic alert to the medical team in less than 3 seconds, allowing for intervention before a fall occurs.
Where are the sensors placed?
The Sit2stand device is placed on the user’s back, detects risky movements, and sends an alert to an external device, making it easier for the caregiver to intervene in time and prevent the fall.
What types of people is it designed for?
The device is designed for people at risk of falls, with cognitive impairment, and/or with reduced mobility.
Is it complex for the staff?
No. The interface is optimized for daily use with a short learning curve.
How does the facility staff receive alerts?
Alerts are sent simultaneously through three channels:
- Mobile App: Priority push notifications on staff smartphones with intelligent prioritization based on urgency level
- Central Hub: Audible and visual alert on the hub installed in the nursing station
- Web Platform: Real-time control panel accessible from any browser with event history
The system includes automatic escalation: if there is no response within 60 seconds, the alert is forwarded to the next level of staff.
